GHOST TOWNS

One of my favorite pastimes is to scrounge around the old ghost towns
in this part of the country. Here's some shots from our latest exploits.

Sublette

Left: Old mine fan . . . . Right: Remnants of crusher-screening setup

Left: A large rope we found next to an old hoist foundation.
Right: The old jail. One of the few buildings that still had a roof.

These are pictures taken last summer at Sublette. It's an old coal
mining town that shut down around 1936, near Kemmerer, Wyoming.

Sego

Another old coal town we visited last summer is Sego,
near Green River, Utah. It died around 1946.

Miners Basin

Not far from Moab, Utah, is the old copper mining town of Miners Basin.
Some of the old miners cabins are still in use. Incredible view.
Not far from Canyonlands and Arches parks.
