Since the summer of 2000, I've been driving tank, winch and dump trucks in near by
gas fields, and numerous other projects for Nielson Construction. The Peterbuilt on the left is the truck I spend the most time in.
During a slow spell, I put a headache rack and tool box on it so it could be used with a flat bed trailer. On the tanker trailer, I modified the tail lights and added some bracing to the pump mounting.

A while back my company bought the Western Star we call "Geezer", on the left and three oil field trailers at a sale.
When work got slow, I re-designed the tail roller to a "floppy tail"
set up with an adjustable 5'th wheel Also I put in a fresh brownie and overhauled the #1 winch. Then I turned it over to Ian and Kelly, who sand blasted and painted it. After that I built two lift arms for smaller jobs that didn't require the gin poles. Also the trailers got a
make over. The decks were pactched or replaced, the landing gear was repaired and I built a trough and roller for unloading with the #2 winch on one trailer.

The company picked this Kenworth recently, and we have built an oilfield bed on it from scratch. It really goes,
with a 500E cat and 18 speed transmission. We used a design similar
to the adjustable 5"th wheel and "floppy tail" used on the
truck above. After I took this picture, I welded up ramps similar to the "Geezer's", so the king pin of our trailers would clear when they are winched up on to the 5'th wheel. The headache rack, the bed and the front bumper were done in house by our welders. I rigged up the plumbing and controls for the hydraulic operated
winches The truck is now in use. I'll try to get a shot of the finished truck on here soon.

I've spent about five years after I moved to Utah driving trucks like this.

During '86 and '87, I delivered materials and workers with trucks and busses to sites like this on Exxon's Labarge Project in Wyoming.
